I felt incredibly well taken care of throughout the entire ceremony. Nathan’s competence, experience, and calm leadership impressed me from the very first moment. If you feel called to do something as profound and “crazy” as this, you honestly couldn’t be in better hands. The way he prepares you for the journey — and holds space afterward as well — is highly professional and full of integrity.

The team and fellow participants were also wonderful. Even though I don’t speak Dutch, everyone made a conscious effort to include me, and a lot of the communication naturally shifted to English. This warmth and openness helped me fully relax into the experience and enjoy the adventure.

Castricum itself is beautiful, located right by the sea, and the ceremony room is lovingly and thoughtfully designed. The whole setting felt safe, soulful, and special.

All in all, it was an extraordinary day — one I hope to create space for again in the future.

I recently took part in a one-on-one magic mushroom retreat in the Netherlands, and it was a genuinely special and deeply meaningful experience.
From the very beginning, my guide, Nathan, created an atmosphere of trust and safety. He is incredibly knowledgeable, caring, and grounded, with the perfect balance between professionalism and genuine human warmth. His calm energy and such like-mindedness allowed me to fully open up and feel completely supported throughout the entire process, which made all the difference in getting the most from the experience.
The ceremony itself was beautifully staged and thoughtfully conducted. Nothing felt forced or rushed. Every part flowed naturally and felt intentional, pure, and real. The inclusion of gentle breathwork and yoga beforehand was very grounding and comforting, and the homemade meal afterward was nourishing and clearly prepared with care. There was also plenty of unhurried space to relax, reflect, and talk afterward, which helped everything settle in a very natural way.
The music deserves special mention. Nathan tuned it specifically to me- who I am and what he felt was right for me to guide my trip in a really deep and personal way- it was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. It’s hard to put into words without diminishing it, so I’ll just say it was deeply moving and perfectly held.
Overall, this retreat felt authentic, respectful, and deeply personal. It’s clear that a lot of heart, skill, and integrity goes into what Nathan offers. I will definitely be back, and I would really recommend this experience to anyone looking for a safe, intentional, inspiring and meaningful retreat. It’s also very reasonably priced and conveniently located - only about 30 minutes from Amsterdam Central Station.
